Because of Winn Dixie – Memories of 3rd Grade at Gator Run Elementary

In the school year I read Because Of Winn Dixie and was asked to write the beginning in Winn Dixie’s point of view. Here it is :

I am Winn Dixie and today I am running through a grocery store. So far I’ve knocked over some tomatoes , onions and green peppers. I’m feeling really happy right now. I see a tall guy, all red faced, screaming and I see a girl walking in. I smile at the girl. I want to thank the tall guy for the wonderful time I’m having, but he doesn’t speak dog so I wag my tail. The tall guy falls over and starts crying. I feel bad for him so I lick his face. The tall guy says ,” Please somebody call the pound! ” Then the girl says, “Wait a minute ,that’s my dog , don’t call the pound!!!!!! ” Is that girl crazy????? I thought. I’m not her dog. When we walk out of the store , the girl said , “You’re a mess… I bet you don’t belong to anybody. ” I smile at her and we start walking somewhere. Her dad let me stay with them.

That is it.

Welcome to our Page

Welcome to our family page. As you will soon find out, this is mostly for US about US.

Six very different people. With different personalities. passions, goals and seemingly irrational peeves.

You are welcome to share in our story and experiences, from time to time , through this window.

First off. For those of my kids (you know you who you areπŸ‘€) that wanted to know: “Dad!!! Why this? Why now?? why here??”

I say to you : Time flies. Really fast. At least that is what it feels like to me these last nine years of our life as a family.

With this blog, we will capture the memories. Good and bad.

We would have captured the joy of Niyi’s first painting – now proudly hanging in our living room.🌡

Sola’s first complete work as a sewing mistress (fashion designer?) (a Tank Top, no lessπŸ‘).

And Miga’s first soccer trophy. πŸ’ˆ

Not to worry. We look forward to capturing the thrill of the publication of Rotimi’s first book. And countless other great things to come in our unique lives.

Yes, the less-than-perfect moments too. That is life.

We look forward to all the high and lows of life. With full confidence in the knowledge that our steps are ordered by God who never sleeps nor slumbers.
